Ridge Clear Stemmed Glass 17.5 cm Tall 160 g Ribbed Short Stem is a stemmed glass built around a straight ribbed body on a short stem over a 7 cm foot in clear, uncoloured, with vertical ribbing from rim to foot. It is produced in our glass workshop for buyers who need a repeatable decorative programme rather than a one off sample, and the piece shown here carries the a short stemmed glass with a narrow ribbed body, between a tumbler and a wine glass.
Short stem glasses are often specified for dessert wine programmes, where a full size wine glass looks over scaled. Every unit is annealed in a controlled lehr so that wall stress stays within our breakage specification, and dimensions are checked against the measurement sheet printed on the photography. The result is a glass that looks individual on the shelf but behaves predictably in a container load.
Key Features- Short Stem Format: 17.5 cm sits between a tumbler and a wine glass, which suits dessert wine and sparkling service.
- Narrow 6 cm Body: A tight body concentrates aroma in a small pour.
- Ribbed Through: Ribs run into the foot, which is where a short stem needs its strength.
- 160 g Weight: Light enough for banquet volume.
- Clear Glass: No colour, so it works for tasting and comparison flights.
- Racks Low: The short stem clears most standard dishwash racks.

This stemmed glass is aimed at restaurant service, sparkling and dessert wine, hotel banqueting. Buyers typically place it in a range that needs one recognisable decorative accent without moving to a full bespoke mould, and because the body is a standard production shape the tooling cost is already absorbed into the piece price.
In service the glass is expected to move between back of house washing and front of house display several times a day. The surface withstands standard commercial detergents, and the rim geometry has been kept simple so that stacking and racking do not put point loads on the lip. For retail programmes the same item can be boxed as a single unit or combined with the matching pieces in our range to build a story around colour and pattern.
Sampling buyers usually test three things: whether the decoration survives twenty dishwasher cycles, whether the base sits flat on a granite or marble surface, and whether case pack dimensions match their pallet plan. All three can be confirmed with a stock sample before any production deposit is placed.
Packaging and Quality AssuranceEach piece is packed in a moulded pulp or corrugated divider inside a five layer export carton, with a printed sleeve available for retail programmes. Case pack quantities are set so that a full pallet loads without void fill, which keeps freight cost per unit down for mixed container orders.
Production is inspected at three points: incoming glass quality, decoration placement, and final packing. AQL inspection follows the usual 2.5 major and 4.0 minor plan unless a buyer specifies otherwise, and we keep a retained sample from each run so that repeat orders can be matched for colour and pattern density.
Care and Handling- Ridge Clear Glass
- Short Stem Stemware
- Ribbed Wine Glass
Hand washing with a soft sponge is recommended where a decorative surface is present, and dishwasher use is acceptable on a normal cycle at moderate temperature. Avoid sudden temperature change such as pouring boiling liquid into a chilled glass, since thermal shock remains the most common cause of breakage in any annealed glassware. Stored correctly, the piece is designed for years of daily use.
